How Agile Design Helped Launch PROJECTA
PROJECTA was an opportunity to challenge ourselves as a studio to see what could be achieved when strategy, branding and digital design were compressed into an agile, collaborative sprint.
Working alongside the PROJECTA team, we set out to create a brand identity and website for this year's community activation as part of Queenstown's light art festival. With a fixed deadline and a community-focused budget, success relied on making confident decisions and staying closely aligned.
By implementing a rapid design sprint, we focused on what mattered most. Each iteration, sketch, design, and review was developed collaboratively, printed out, voted on and chosen together quick to help achieve the deadline and ensure that the brand and website were developed together. The outcome is a visual identity that is bold, contemporary, and memorable, paired with a website thxat effectively communicates the initiative and encourages community involvement.
Projects like PROJECTA remind us that agility isn't about rushing. It's about knowing when to explore, when to decide and when to move. Constraints often become great chances to explore different ways of thinking and designing, allowing the team to grow.
As a creative agency, we love challenging ourselves to work in new ways. PROJECTA demonstrates how an agile approach can deliver meaningful outcomes for community projects, proving that thoughtful design, strategic thinking, and digital experiences don't always need months to make.
One of the most rewarding aspects of the project was collaborating with a client who fully embraced the process. PROJECTA came to us with genuine enthusiasm and a willingness to make bold decisions. By trusting the sprint approach, they helped maintain momentum from the very beginning. As PROJECTA continues to grow, it can expand its identity to welcome new installations, artists, partners, and audiences, all while maintaining the clarity of its original vision.
